Where We Started
Our journey to perfection began in 2008 when our founder Shane Crilly travelled to the birthplace of pizza, Naples in Southern Italy to ensure that Base met all of the criteria of a top-quality authentic Italian Pizza; artisanal, fresh and above all delicious. While there, Shane forged a partnership with Sergio Giogiudici who ran a local cooperative of Italian producers and farmers. As a result Base gets the highest quality of ingredients directly from Naples, which is exclusive to Base in Ireland
What We Stand For
Influenced by traditional Neapolitan cooking methods and inspired by modern flavours we aim to provide our customers with a superior pizza experience. Providing exceptionally tasty food with a freshly made, ever-changing, seasonal menu.
Created with Integrity is our mantra across all aspects of our business, from the food we make to the way we make it and the ingredients we use – we just want to do one thing…make incredible pizza.
Food To Feel Good About
Food authenticity is a huge deal with us – where it comes from, how it’s prepared – and of course, how it tastes. From making our dough daily to preparing each pizza topping – we’ve made it a priority to keep our food free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. It’s that simple.
People First
By putting people first, we strive to be a force for positive change in our employee’s lives and the communities they serve. Providing a safe and secure workplace where our staff are provided with opportunities to learn and develop is important to us.
A company can’t grow unless its people grow. That’s why we empower our team members to do their best work, develop lifelong skills, and have some fun along the way
Our Community
Throughout the years, Base Wood Fired Pizza have had opportunities to give back to the community by participating in fundraisers, sponsoring local events and supporting local clubs. Over the last three years, we have been delighted to participate in Donation Day with Christmas FM in support of Temple Street Children’s Hospice, LauraLynn and Barretstown and have managed to raise over €3,000 for these charities.
